|Hey everybody. I\'m also just 17 and I dicovered Nirvana 4 yrs ago. I think I know a lot about\'em. Especially Kurt. If anybody of wants to know more about them (him) read the book \"Come as you are - The true Kurt Cobain-Story\". it\'s a great book. When I think about Kurt Cobain I think it\'s very sad, that I never had the opportunity to see himk live but I\'m not sad, that there isn\'t another record. Cause I think If he had done another one it wouldn\'t be that great. In the end he really was emotional disturbed. His passion wouldn\'t be there anymore.
Especially when I think about his dead, I think of one verse in \"Dumb\". That\'s what everybody who feels an emotional connection between you and him should think. That\'s the greatest verse he sang for me:
\"THE SUN IS GONE BUT I HAVE A LIGHT\"
(sorry for my fucked up English)|

|Kurt Cobain was a true leader is rock music. His music wa spowerful and yet understood by fans everywhere. Why he married that B**** Courtney Love, I have no Idea. I bet we all wish that Kurt was still alive, beacuse then we wouldn\'t have all these sissy bands like Limp Bizkit. Nirvana was a great band. Kurt was a great guy. This world sux w/o em!!|
|Mickey from U.S.A said:|
|Kurt was a great guy. He lead Nirvana to new limits and heights, losing him was truely a great loss, a a loss to the music industry, w/o Kurt and Nirvana, there is no REAL music.|

|‘Nearvana – San Francisco’ Tinnitus…I think this is this the second Nirvana Tribute album I’ve seen the first being ‘Punk Tribute to Nirvana’ which had the likes of Green Day, Flipper and ICU it had a few good songs. So this ‘Nearvana – San Francisco’ is a good addition to the old music library cause it has 21 covers by 21 indie San Fran bands that pull off these songs with true grit. It’s released on a fairly new label (I guess or at least I’ve never heard of it before) Tinnitus Records. They have a nice selection of Psycobilly – Trucker – Rock A Billy bands and a variety of local San Francisco bands that I’ve not heard of but are very good so much so that I’m looking for releases of there own music. It’s one of those CDs you can listen to from beginning to end without wanting to fast forward. I highly recommend it!|

|i want to murder justin timberlake and carson daily. how refreshing would it be to see a bullet go through there heads. But still it wouldent take us back to a time when powerful emotional music that had relevence to the world was considered popular. I really dont see why all these genxers r all pissed of about how therre generation was portrayed. Look at ours we idolize moronic acts that sing about nothing but how they want to fuck some bitch. plese god make the world change. Nirvana was and always be the best band, kurt will always be the best songwritter, ther legend will always live on. peace love empathy.|

|i am a huge nirvana fan and although i am only 13 nearly 14 i can remember the newspapers when he was murdered. i stand to this theory rigidly and when i read some emails and letters that people have wrote about him , the shear idolism is so great it reduces me to tears. nirvanas music will continue to appeal to people in many lifetimes and generations from now. please i ask one thing of you all.
never ever forget him...... peace love empathy. judith e cliff

|21 Nirvana Songs covered by 21 San Francisco Bands its \'Nearvana- San Francisco\' on Tinnitus Records. I was thinking hmmm not another tribute album reminiscing on SF bands from way back when I use to live there that I would of love to have seen do Nirvana covers like Steel Pole Bath Tub, Bomb and Dead Kennedy\'s. I actually picked it up to support my friend\'s band El Destroyo who did a cover of \'Dumb\'. It\'s really really good. All the bands do very unique versions of songs… it\'s kinda how San Francisco use to be in the early to mid 90\'s. Not only do it bring back fond memories of Nirvana but of what a great place San Francisco is for pint drinking, tattoo bearing, appendage piercing, out of your head bohemian artistic freaks!
Some other artist that did some cool versions - Crosstops \'In Bloom\' (Rock a Billy),
Storm \'Rape Me\' (female fronted), Binky \'Pennyroyal Tea\' (Caballero Punk), Hellworms \'Milk it\' (Dead Kennedy\'s meet Steel Pole Bathtub vibe!!!), Hotbox (Female madness), Chantigs \'Come As Your Are\' (kinda Per Ubu vibe), The Postmen \'Very Ape\' too many more to mention. Definitely a great CD. Check it out and help support my bros from El Destryo.

|WARNING - PUNK ROCK TRUCKER TUNES OUT NOW!!!
That’s right the San Francisco based band Crosstops just released yet another brilliant bit of music that has me trading in my Doc Marten’s in for a pair of cowboy boots (not really) but if you aren’t kicking your heels up with “Cloverleaf Fandango”
you’re clinically dead.

|Impulse Buy - I just picked up a compilation-tribute CD call \"Nearvana - San Francisco\" on Tinnitus Records, I\'m sure you can guess whom the tributes to. Actually all 21 bands on the CD are from San Francisco. The cover is kinda lame but I picked it up cause there were four bands I really dig that have songs on it…Birdsaw and Storm a band female fronted vocals did a cover of \'Something in the Way\". Just saw them at a show in Los Angeles, talk about an amazing performance and set of lungs (half the show she sang away from the mic). I guess some people compare her to Janis Joplin, which I can see but with a more heavy edged band backing her. Also doing a song - Storm Inc. - This is another great female fronted band who does a great version of Rape Me. Other bands include The Crosstops (psycobilly) cover \'In Bloom\' this cover rules and Wilson Gil & The Willful Sinners do a very cool cover of \'Heart Shape Box\' (more of a Nick Cave vibe). There are 18 more artist on here as well, what I like about this CD is there\'s a good eclectic mix of styles. Definitely worth checking out.|

|A song for Kurt
A long lost hero from days gone by,
not a hero for some coz of the way he got high,
A troubled soul fed by a troubled mind,
it got to the stage you could no longer hide.
The pain you were in eternal suffering,
we all felt how much you were hurting.
Your pain was ours ,
we felt it too,
We hated to see what you were going through,
you didnt want the empathy,
you didn\'t have the choice,
water pouring over those who cared
Tears in Seattle always shared.
Desperate spokesman for a grunge generation,
had all the answers,
you werent asked the questions.
you never had wounds,
just open scars,
for people to jest at,
always from afar.
They say your dead,
you never will be,
You open our hearts when we put on our cd\'s,
people staring ,
they just don\'t understand,
When i meet you in heaven will you know our name,
will you understand how we want to claim,
you as a friend,
one of a kind,
to live in our hearts and never die.
CHORUS till fade.
Any feed back on this song would be well appreciated. via the guest book or email. email@example.com|
